Archive for March, 2009

This is more of a free form podcast with an ad-lib story by the Munchkin. Remember to email me or comment on the show to enter the contest to win a Winter Issue of Verena Knitting and a skein of Lorna’s Laces Lamb and Wool. I talk about how my Mac computer held hostage my hard disk memory for years. I share some news in the knitting world, and, as always, share my knitting-related frustrations.

DFW Fiber Fest 2009 is coming and I am watching out for a spinning class.

Thanks to all who have let me know they enjoy the show.

I started a group in ravelry for listeners to share experiences, thoughts, comments - well anything really. I started a thread about KAL.

Until the next one, Happy Knitting!

If color is your quest, an intarsia project may provide what you are looking for. In this episode we discuss various techniques of locking the stitches, evening out the tension at the borders of the color changes, and even a one-yarn Intarsia technique from the Knitters Magazine Fall 2008 Article and project. I talk about our new puppy and a 102 Dalmatians movie inspired dog sweater.

Happy to back podcasting… and I hope you enjoy the show. I am holding a contest where one listener could win the Winter 2009 Issue of Verena Knitting magazine. At the moment the podcast does not have any sponsors, so my endorsement of this product is strictly my own. If you want to see if you will like it too, leave a comment in my blog at www.knitscience.com, send me an email at knitscience@gmail.com, or a message in ravelry to “miriamq” and let me know the following: 1) Is there a knitting fad you wish came back into fashion? Tell me about it. 2) Is there a type of knitting you wish were not in fashion? Tell me about it. 3) Is there a project that you can’t wait to start or finish? Tell me about it.

The winner will be randomly chosen and I may read or describe your input in a future episode. Entries will be considered up to April 1.

- Happy Knitting!
