Have you ever felt a tingling or sharp pain in your hands - it may be carpal tunnel - but it just may be you are knitting too much without watching your hands. In this eposide I explore a pain I felt in my right hand (due to too much computing) and share with you the symptoms of carpal tunnel, bursitis and tendonitis. I also review two recently acquired books and tell you about the sweater I am knitting, the Ribby Cardi. We top it off with a goodbye story by my munchkin and that is the show.

1) Information on Tendonitis and Bursitis. 2) Information on Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. See your doctor if you think you may be afflicted….Please. 3) Knit 2 Together by Tracy Ullman and Mel Clark. 4) Knitting on the Road by Nancy Bush.

Email me at knitscience@gmail.com or visit the Knit Science Podcast blog if you have any questions or comments. Love to hear from you.

Happy Knitting!

You should have received an invite to Ravelry if you signed up in April–or even May for that matter. Maybe a spam filter intercepted the invite. Have you checked to see where you are in line? http://www.ravelry.com/antsy

Thanks for the info on carpel tunnel vs tendonitis/bursitis. I sometimes get numbness in one or both hands when knitting but usually only on the evenings when I’ve been at work all day at the computer. Do yo know of any good exercises for this? Thank you.
