So this episode 3 is about a lot of knitting since the last podcast had a lot more science than knitting talk. In this episode I talk about bamboo, buffalo, and quiviut yarns. Especially, I highlight the work of the Windy Valley Muskox Yarns. I have finished some objects and started planning new ones. To get the pattern for the Windy Cable Knee Socks from Interweave, sign up for the Knitting Daily newsletter website. I ordered Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock in Mineshaft from Jimmy Beans Wool online store. Very good service!

Finally, I tell you all about the DFW Fiberfest 2007 taking place during April 28-30 in Addison, TX.

This podcast features music by Science Groove and Wren Ross, courtesy of the podsafe music network.

Leave me comments at knitscience@gmail.com - especially tell me all about how you journal your ongoing or finished projects.

Until the next one, Happy Knitting!

This episode has a new feel and technical design as well as improved content. Three segments of this podcast focus on knitting bags, “knitting like yoga” phrase, and details on my progress on the circumnavigated jacket I am knitting with the Dallas Hand Knitters Guild. To introduce you to the segment “knit scientific,” this episode provides details on the reasons physiological aspects of knitting and it encourages you to think about how knitting makes you feel, physically. As part of the episode’s survey, the listener is exhorted to participate via email to answer the question:

- “Do you use knitting for a specific physiological effect?” Getting better sleep, reducing stress…etc. I make my confession in this podcast as to the answer to this question. Visit Mind/Body Institute for more inspiration.

Hear great tunes from the group Science Groove and Kalahari Surfers, courtesy of the podsafe music network. And visit the website by Jordana Paige to see beautiful knitting bags. Another good site is www.organizedknitter.com where you can purchase great handmade knitting needle cases.

As a project, I am planning to construct my own casual knitting bag out of the Vogue Accessories pattern V0698.

As always, Happy Knitting! and please forward your comments or suggestions to knitscience@gmail.com and visit my blog in the near future for pictures of my finished objects, knitscience.blogspot.com.

On the first podcast, which is available through iTunes and Podcast Alley, I talk about how and why I wanted to podcast about my knitting. I talk about my current project and the project I am planning. Hear my story about Buffalo yarn. And, it wouldn’t be Knit Science if I didn’t talk about a technique or trend in knitting or tools related to knitting. It’s not a brainy podcast, but it will appeal to those of us who crave as much information about knitting and want to get insipired to try new things with our knitting projects.

Send me your comments and thoughts - they are all welcome, good or bad.
